Texas Unites for Animals!
2010 Lone Star Conference

The 2009 Texas Unites for Animals Conference was a HUGE success! The Texas Federation of Humane Societies (TFHS) and the Texas Animal Shelter Coalition (TASC) are excited to welcome the Texas Animal Control Association (TACA) as a new partner to make the 2010 conference even BETTER!

 With the three largest professional animal care and control organizations in Texas working together, we’re bringing all of your training needs to the heart of Texas!

The conference will include 36 workshops in four tracks:

Field Operations & Animal Cruelty Investigations Shelter Operations & Placement Leadership Veterinary & Health

There are three pre-conference special sessions on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offered in partnership with local organizations. See page 8 for details. Additional fee applies.

Kinky Freidman will kick off the conference by providing our keynote presentation!

 

Continuing Education credits approved by:

DSHS for Certified Animal Control Officers

TOTAL: 19.5 CE credit hours for attending one special session and 9 conference workshops

  • 6 CE credit hours available for attending special session
  • 1.5 CE credit hours available for each conference workshop attended (maximum 13.5 hours for 9 workshops)
Note: Texas Unites for Animals will provide certificate of completion for attendee to keep on file. You may provide a copy to TACA if you are a member.

TCLEOSE for law enforcement officers

TOTAL: 20 credit hours available for attending 9 conference workshops

  • 8 CE credit hours for Saturday
  • 8 CE credit hours for Sunday
  • 4 CE credit hours for Monday

Note: Texas Unites for Animals will provide certificate of completion for attendee to keep on file and for organization to submit to TCLEOSE for approval.

TBVME for veterinarians

  • 13.5 credit hours available, participant must attend entire track of 9 workshops to receive credit

TVMA for veterinary technicians
