Texas Unites for Animals and Texas Humane Network are pleased to announce our 2021 “Laws for Paws” Symposium for LINK-Related Courses, focusing on the LINK during October, National Domestic Violence Awareness month. This one-day symposium will focus on the LINK between animal cruelty and abuse and interpersonal violence and those professionals who face the link in their everyday jobs. This FREE content will be accessible for those legal and sheltering professionals to understand and have a general awareness of the LINK while looking at specific cases in Texas, detecting signs of the LINK, and opportunities for cross-reporting. In addition, there will be a legislative session update on the laws that passed recently in Texas and on the federal level. Sessions will address trending legal issues such as animal cruelty cases related to domestic violence, child abuse, and elderly abuse.

About Texas Humane Network (THN)
The Texas Humane Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2020 to promote the humane treatment of animals through education, training and outreach. The Texas Humane Network (THN) is affiliated with the Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN), a 501(c)(4) nonprofit that focuses on passing humane legislation. These two affiliated organizations work in tandem: THLN passes the animal cruelty laws, and THN aids in the enforcement of those laws through educational programming. Every time THLN gets a law passed, the lives of thousands upon thousands of animals are changed for the better. And THN educational programming can educate Texans to be more humane for generations to come. Together, the two organizations make a significant, lasting impact. Learn More: www.thln.org
